Audience of One

About Ao1 —

Celebrating Psalm 149:3, Audience of One aims to elevate dancers’ faith by tapping into who God has called us all to be as disciples of Jesus Christ. Ao1 is here to offer supplemental training experiences, rooted in worship & God’s word, to better help dancers align their passion for movement with their heart for ministry.

We are called as Christians to dwell in community, & as dancers that can be challenging if we don’t find ourselves in an uplifting environment. Audience of One was created to intentionally counter negative patterns found in the dance industry. Instead, we hope to cultivate a community of dancers and believers who strive to live like Jesus among our broken world.

Ao1 is for everyONE, regardless of your skill level or where you are in your faith journey <3

Worship + Workshops —

To worship is to honor God. As dancers, one of the greatest tools we can use to worship is movement. Along with Bible Studies, our time together will be dedicated to worshipping the Lord through our dancing. Classes will be taught in a workshop structure where dancers will learn combinations and have time to explore praising God through movement.

Classes will be geared toward the intermediate/advanced dancer, but all skill levels are welcome! We aim to host a variety of teachers & class styles — all with the goal of praising God & encouraging one another. Music played will be Christian & clean.

Bible Studies —

Bible Studies are key in growing our faith. Since the Bible is God’s word, studying it helps us come to know Him better. By understanding God’s place and plan throughout history, we can better understand His plan for us, His sovereign love, & the way He cares for humanity.

Studies will be intentionally planned around topics that dancers want to learn more about & will be divided by age groups.

Meet the Director —

Lila Knull is the founder & director of Audience of One. Having trained in a Christian dance environment throughout high school, inspiring young dancers to grow in their faith & advance as artists is something she’s extremely passionate about! It’s her faith-based dance training that encouraged her in following God, & she’s honored to disciple dancers through their walk with Jesus. Lila has led & taken part in many Bible studies and classes encompassing a wide range of Christian topics, & served on the Reformed University Fellowship leadership team during her time at College of Charleston. She feels confident in her faith & equipped by the Holy Spirit to lead others to relationship with Christ.
